OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Winning back-to-back games, the Baker women's soccer team took down William Penn on Saturday by a score of 3-1.
All three of Baker's goals came from Naomi Harris-Hyche who recorded the hat trick, taking four of the team's eight shots in the game. Caitlin Youles also added three shots in the game. Sophia Holloway was in goal for Baker, making two saves in her 90 minutes.
It took less than six minutes for Baker to get on the scoreboard as Sidney Claeys found Harris-Hyche to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead. A little over 11 minutes later, Rihanna Blanchard connected with Harris-Hyche to give Baker a strong 2-0 lead just 18 minutes into the game.
It wasn't until the 75th minute that William Penn got on the board, but Baker responded with just over a minute left in the game with Harris-Hyche's third goal of the game and traveled home to Baldwin City with their second conference win this season.
Baker is now 3-3-2 on the year and 2-1-1 in Heart of America play. They will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 24, when they host Benedictine at 5 p.m., at Hartley Field in Baldwin City, Kan.
