Misipeka, Widhalm Named to First Team, Wildcats Land Five on All-Heart Teams
BALDWIN CITY - After marking one of the program's best seasons in over a decade, Baker volleyball had a total of five players earn all-conference honors as the 2025 Heart Women's Volleyball All-Conference Teams were announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Kohanihokuao Misipeka and Aby Widhalm highlighted BU's list of honorees and were named to the All-Heart First Team after helping lead the Wildcats to their first conference tournament appearance since 2018.
In her first season at Baker since transferring from Cornell, Misipeka recorded a team-high 299 kills, while hitting .164 in her 25 matches played, and tallied 334 digs, which was the second-highest on the squad. Widhalm, who was a first-team selection and Heart Newcomer of the Year last year, totaled 253 kills, 218 digs and 22 service aces, registering a double-double in nine matches this fall.
Reese Kehl and Brie Reedy were selected to the All-Heart Second Team after serving as two key pieces to the Baker defense in 2025. Kehl ranked second in the conference with a career-best 546 digs and chipped in 90 assists and 12 aces in her first season back since missing all of 2024 with an injury. Reedy, a junior from Topeka, Kan., played in all 27 matches, led the Wildcats in blocks with 92, and fired off 177 kills.
Kylie Murray earned honorable-mention honors for the second straight year after joining Widhalm on the all-conference list last season. The junior from Florissant, Mo. marked her best campaign since coming to BU in 2023, hitting over .200 for the fall, while racking up 218 kills and 35 aces.
This season, Baker won their most games since 2013, going 17-10 overall, and posted an 11-7 mark in conference play to reach the Heart Conference Tournament for the first time in seven years. BU started off the fall by winning four of its first five matches and added a five-game winning streak in mid-September to get off to an excellent start to the Heart season as well.
