Wildcats Drop Road Finale, 3-0 to No. 13 Central Methodist

FAYETTE, Mo. - Baker women's soccer fell to No. 13 Central Methodist on Wednesday evening in Fayette, Mo., in the Wildcats' final road game of 2025.

The Wildcats held off a relentless Eagles attack to start the game, but the hosts broke through in the 28th minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime before tacking on two more in the second half. With the win, CMU clinched the conference regular season title.

Central Methodist owned a 23-2 advantage in shots and took nine corner kicks in the match, compared to just one first-half corner from BU.

After being held scoreless for almost a half hour of play, the Eagles scored their first goal after an initial shot hit the crossbar and were able to send a follow-up before BU keeper Sophia Holloway had time to reset.

CMU added its second goal quickly out of the half, putting BU at a two-goal disadvantage until the Eagles sealed the match on an unstoppable goal in the 87th minute that soared into the upper corner.

Sidney Claeys recorded Baker's lone shot on goal in the 60th minute, while Caitlin Youles had a shot that was blocked late in the first half.

Baker will wrap up the 2025 regular season on Saturday, November 1, facing another ranked team in No. 4 Missouri Valley. Kickoff from Hartley Field is set for 5 p.m.
