BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – On a night where the Wildcats recognized three seniors, the Baker women's soccer team dropped a tough one at home to Clarke University, 2-0.
Baker took a total of six shots in the game, with five of those shots coming from Sidney Claeys and Stella Jameson. Darcy Cato also added a shot as Baker forced Clarke's keeper to make three saves in the game. Sophia Holloway racked up six saves in her 90 minutes of work.
Just over 20 minutes into the game, the Pride got on the board, scoring off a rebound to take a 1-0 lead. Baker then held Clarke scoreless for the next 40 minutes until a free kick went untouched into the back of the net and extended the lead to 2-0.
Baker battled for the final 30 minutes but were unable to scratch across a goal as they fell to Clarke, 2-0.
Following the game, the Wildcats recognized Sidney Claeys, Darcy Cato, and Caitlin Youles for their dedication to the Baker women's soccer program.
With the loss, Baker is now 3-8-4 on the season and 2-6-3 in conference play. They will travel to Central Methodist on Wednesday, before finishing the regular season on Saturday at home against Missouri Valley.
