Wildcats Earn Title, Place Four at Midland Tournament
FREMONT, Neb. - Heading into the late stages of its regular season, Baker women's wrestling put together another strong tournament showcase, competing at the Warrior Open, hosted by Midland, on Saturday.
Overall, the Wildcats had a total of 22 wrestlers competing in Fremont, Neb., racking up 29 overall wins as a team and earning four top-six finishes, including a third straight championship from Kylie Robledo (110).
Robledo went 4-0 in her matches to secure the title at 110 pounds, extending her incredible tournament run, which includes 11 straight victories and three straight championships as well as a 26-2 overall record in 2025-26. She defeated Reagan Thomas of Lindsey Wilson, who ranks five spots ahead of her at 10th nationally, by tech fall in the championship match.
Aileya Sath also tallied four wins and came in fifth in the 131-pound bracket, battling out back-to-back close decisions in the consolation round to clinch a placement finish.
Kylee Slyter (124) and Hailee Crosland (160) each picked up a sixth-place finish, with Slyter winning two of her three matches by tech fall, while Crosland started off her tournament with three straight victories to reach the semifinals of the championship bracket at 160 pounds.
Mariam Shariq (138), McKenna Haltom (145), Jade Martin (145), Johanna Carrasco (180) and Kara Pope (207) all came away with multiple wins at the Midland tournament as well. Shariq had a pair of tech falls, Haltom opened with a pin, Martin had back-to-back victories, Carrasco collected three wins, and both of Pope's victories came by pin.
Baker will host its final home dual of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 4, with a conference matchup against No. 10 Missouri Valley. The two teams will hold a varsity reserve dual, starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity dual, in the Collins Center.
