Wildcats Mark Personal Bests at Washburn Open

TOPEKA, Kan. - With the conference indoor meet less than a couple of weeks away, the Baker track and field teams put together a strong performance at the Washburn Open this past weekend in Topeka, Kan.

The Wildcats recorded five top-20 finishes and had multiple athletes earn personal-best marks with Naomi Kilson's 13th-place finish in the women's long jump marking the highest finish for BU at the meet.

Kilson went 5.39 meters to place 13th in the long jump and clocked the fastest 60-meter time of her career in Friday's prelims with a time of 7.84 seconds. Currently, both marks sit within the top-10 among conference athletes, ranking sixth in the 60m and ninth in the long jump.

Jamesperry Frazier (8.77) and Londyn Cage (9.58) each hit personal-best times in the 60-meter hurdles with Cage placing 31st in the women's race, while Frazier took 34th in the men's.

In the women's 3K, junior Haley Thompson ran her first race under 13 minutes and finished with a new personal-best time of 12:52.87. Aiden Massey recorded two top-50 finishes after he placed 35th in the men's 5K (15:32.36) and 45th in the mile (4:24.22).

Hannah Jensen went over 10 meters in the triple jump for the first time this season with a personal-best jump of 10.33 meters to finish 27th in the event. In his first time competing in the event, PJ McCallop came away with a top-10 conference mark in the men's long jump. He went 6.72 meters and placed 16th among a field of 45 jumpers.
