Baker Women’s Tennis Advances to Semifinals at 2026 Heart Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Baker men's and women's tennis teams competed at the 2026 Heart Men's and Women's Tennis Championships on Friday at Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City, Missouri, with the Wildcats' women recording the program's first conference tournament win.

The No. 4-seeded women opened with a 4-0 sweep of No. 5 Grand View, taking the doubles point and winning three straight-set singles matches to secure the decision. In the semifinals, Baker fell to No. 1 seed Missouri Baptist, 4-0, to close its run.

On the men's side, the No. 8-seeded Wildcats matched up with No. 1 Missouri Baptist in the opening round. The Spartans claimed the doubles point and three singles matches in straight sets for a 4-0 result.

The win over Grand View marked Baker's first victory in the Heart Conference Tournament, which is in its second year as a conference championship event.
