Holloway Tabbed Heart Defensive Player of the Week

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker women's soccer's freshman goalkeeper Sophia Holloway was named the Heart of America's WinWon Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her performance last week, the conference announced today.

A native of Junction City, Kan., Holloway earned her first clean sheet as a Wildcat after shutting out Friends on Wednesday. She stifled a Falcons attack that fired off 14 shots and racked up seven saves in the match to ensure the scoreless draw for BU.

In Saturday's match against MACU, Holloway tallied nine saves in her third straight start to give her 23 total saves on the year.

Holloway and the Wildcats are back in action on Wednesday, Aug. 30 for a midweek matchup against McPherson at 6 p.m. at Hartley Field in Baldwin City, Kan.
