Bray Named Heart Player of the Week

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Senior slugger Savannah Bray picked up Heart Softball Player of the Week honors following her incredible performance in Baker's pair of run-rule wins against Columbia and Bethel on Sunday.

Between the two five-inning games, Bray smacked three home runs and collected seven RBI to lead the Wildcats to a couple of blowouts in Kansas City, Kan. She started off the day with two homers in BU's 13-5 win over the Cougars and then added a three-run shot in her first at-bat against the Threshers to open up the scoring of a 16-1 victory.

The senior from Olathe, Kan. was a first team all-conference selection for the Wildcats last year and has started off her 2024 campaign with extra-base hits in four of her past five games.

Bray and the Wildcats finished up their two-day tournament in KCK by going 4-0 with run-rule victories in three of the four wins. Baker will play a doubleheader against Kansas Christian on Thursday, Feb. 22, starting at 3 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo.
