Four Wildcats Set to Compete at 2025 NAIA Outdoor Championships

MARION, Ind. – The Baker track and field program will send four Wildcats – Julie Coffey, Kameron Glasper, Caleb Nelson and Alexis Summers – to compete in five events at the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 21-23, held on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Ind.

Coffey was the first Wildcat to qualify for nationals this year, clearing the NAIA 'B' standard at Central Missouri's Mule Relays back in April with a throw of 41.30 meters in the women's javelin, which ranks inside the top-25 of NAIA marks this season. The senior from Indianola, Iowa earned a top-eight finish in the javelin at the 2025 Heart Championships earlier this month.

Glasper will be the only Wildcat to compete in multiple events in Marion with the senior from St. Louis, Mo. qualifying in both the men's discus and shot put. He hit the national mark in the discus at Baker's final home meet of the season with a distance of 49.68 meters at the 2025 ZK Invite before qualifying in the shot put at the conference meet with a throw of 16.32 meters, which earned him an all-conference finish.

As the lone returning qualifier for BU, Nelson returns to the NAIA stage to compete in the men's javelin after placing 17th overall at last year's national meet. The senior from Olathe, Kan. punched his ticket in the final meet of the regular season with a personal-best throw of 58.31 meters at the Concordia Twilight last week. Nelson took bronze in the javelin at the Heart Championships.

Summers will represent Baker on the track and compete in the women's 200-meter dash after clocking a time of 24.36 seconds in the prelims at the Heart Championships. She finished with a fourth-place finish in both the 100m and 200m at conference and ranks 16th in the 200m going into the NAIA meet.

The 2025 NAIA Championships are set to begin on Wednesday, May 21 with the multi-events getting underway at 9 a.m. (CT) in Marion.

Nelson and Coffey will be the first two competitors going for the Wildcats with men's javelin starting at 3 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, followed by Coffey's women's javelin at 5:30 p.m. Summers will run in the 200m prelims at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, looking to make the event finals which are on Friday at 3:10 p.m. Glasper will compete in the discus on Thursday at 5 p.m. and the shot put on Friday at Noon.
