Bio

Nick Aguilar enters his fourth year as the head men’s soccer coach for the 2025-26 season.

The fall of 2025, marked an incredible season for Aguilar and the Wildcats, who won their most games in a season since 2018, hosted a national playoff match for the second straight year, reeled off an amazing 13-match unbeaten streak, and captured their first Heart title since 2017.  BU closed the regular season on an incredible run, going unbeaten in its last 10 regular-season games to claim the Heart regular season championship. 

In 2024, Aguilar and the Wildcats (13-8-1) won 13 games, earned a playoff victory and reached the NAIA Round of 16 all for the first time since 2019. With a 5-5-1 conference record, BU made it to the Heart Semifinals and had three players earn all-conference honors. Baker defeated No. 15 UC-Merced, 4-0 at home in the second round of the NAIA playoffs in the first-ever postseason game held at Hartley Field.

Aguilar guided the Wildcats to a 9-7-3 record in 2023 after starting the year going unbeaten through their first six matches. With the nine victories, Baker matched its most wins in a season since 2019. He boasted the Heart’s Most Valuable Player in Gyorgy Kamaras, who went on to earn his second NAIA All-American honor. 

In 2022, he led the Wildcats to an 8-8-3 overall record with six of those wins coming against Heart opponents and had three players earn All-Conference honors.

Overall, Aguilar has been on the BU coaching staff for the past eight seasons, serving as a graduate assistant from 2016-2017, and then as an assistant coach from 2018-2021.

Along with coaching for Baker, Aguilar has also been coaching with the KC Fusion and the Kansas Olympic Development Program since 2014.

Prior to his coaching career, Aguilar played for the Baker men's soccer team from 2009-2012, where he was a team captain for Baker's first ever Final Four run and helped the Wildcats to their best record in school history in 2011. He graduated from Baker in 2013 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Sociology and Spanish. He then received his Master's of Sports Management degree from Baker in 2018.
