El Idrissi Named to NAIA All-America Third Team

BALDWIN CITY - After helping the Wildcats secure their first conference championship in eight years, Chafik El Idrissi of the Baker men's soccer team was selected to the NAIA All-America Third Team as the national office announced its postseason honors late Monday evening.

El Idrissi's All-America honor marks the program's third of the last five years after two-time All-American Gyorgy Kamaras landed on the postseason list in both 2021 and 2023. He becomes the 33rd player overall - and the 18th in the last 20 years - to earn All-America status for the Wildcats.

The sophomore from Casablanca, Morocco, helped guide the Wildcats to a 14-5-3 record overall and clinch the program's second straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament. He was named the 2025 Heart Player of the Year after leading BU to its first conference regular-season championship since 2017.

In his first season since transferring from Mount Mercy, El Idrissi led the Wildcats with 18 points and seven goals, adding in four assists to his stellar campaign. Five of his goals came in a hot four-game stretch where he recorded a couple of braces in outings against Missouri Baptist (Oct. 15) and Clarke (Oct. 25).

This fall marked an incredible season for the Wildcats, who won their most games in a season since 2018, hosted a national playoff match for the second straight year, reeled off an amazing 13-match unbeaten streak, and captured their first Heart title since 2017.
