Baker Men’s Golf Places Eighth at Heart Championships; Dines Earns All-Conference Honors

SMITHVILLE, Mo. – Baker men's golf marked an eighth-place finish at the 2026 Heart Men's Golf Championships, posting a three-round total of 907 (+43) across Monday and Tuesday at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo.

The Wildcats finished in a tight cluster in the middle of the standings, coming in two strokes behind seventh-place William Penn (+41) and two ahead of ninth-place Park (+45). Missouri Valley claimed the Heart championship with a score of 855.

Baker's top finisher was junior Gavin Dines, who placed 18th overall and led the team with an overall score of 222 (+6). The junior from Olathe, Kan., opened the tournament by shooting 1-under before rounds of 76 (+4) and 75 (+3).

Dines was named to the 2026 Heart Men's Golf All-Conference Team, adding to a résumé that includes 2025 Heart Player of the Year honors, last year's individual conference title, and All-Conference recognition as a freshman in 2024.

Senior Drew Lisec placed 23rd at 225 (+9), carding rounds of 75, 76, and 74. Melker Högström tied for 24th with a 226 (+10) on rounds of 75, 76, and 75. Ethan Tompkins (T-45th) finished at 238 (+22), while Andrew Burdett (T-50th) posted a 240 (+24).

The Baker men wrap up a 2026 season that saw them capture two team titles after taking first at both the Baker Invitational (March 9-10) and DWU Spring Invite (April 12-13).
