Dines Selected Heart Men’s Golfer of the Week

BALDWIN CITY - Gavin Dines of the Baker men's golf team was named this week's Heart Men's Golfer of the Week, following his first-place finish at the DWU Spring Invite.

Dines claimed the individual title at the two-day competition, hosted by Dakota Wesleyan last week in Mitchell, S.D., after shooting 8-under for the tournament. He shot a 69 in his first round and followed it with a 71 in the second round before closing things out with a 68 in Tuesday's final round to finish with a six-stroke gap between him and the runner-up.

The junior from Olathe, Kan., has finished top-two on the leaderboard in two of his three tournaments this year after starting off the spring with a runner-up finish at the Baker Invite. He earned the Heart Men's Golfer of the Year award and was named an NAIA All-American last season.

Dines and the Wildcats are finishing up the final day of the MVC Spring Invite, which concludes later today (April 21) in Marshall, Mo.

Following the regular-season finale, both BU teams will turn their attention next to the conference tournaments with the 2026 Heart Men Golf Championships set for April 27-28, while the women's championship will be on May 4-5. Both championships will be played at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo.
