Gonzales Named Baker Head Golf Coach
BALDWIN CITY – Following a thorough national search, Baker University Athletic Director Susan Decker announced on Wednesday the hiring of Molly Gonzales as the new head coach for the Baker men's and women's golf teams.
"I am very excited to welcome Molly as our new golf coach," said Decker. "She brings great energy and a genuine passion for the sport and for developing student-athletes, which makes her an excellent fit to lead our golf programs."
Gonzales comes to Baker after spending the last three years as an instructor at a pair of golf clubs in the Kansas City metro area - Prairie Highlands (Olathe) and Falcon Ridge (Lenexa). Additionally, she has served as an assistant coach for the PGA Junior League since the spring of 2019 and has been an assistant at the Notre Dame De Sion Schools of Kansas City since 2023.
As a graduate of Kansas State University, Gonzales shares a connection with the program through her marriage to former BU golfer Preston Stanley, who played for the Wildcats from 2018-2022.
"I'm incredibly excited to step into this position and build on a tradition of pride, hard work, and competitive excellence," said Gonzales. "Baker is a special place where academics, character, and athletics all matter, and I'm blessed with the opportunity to develop student-athletes both on and off the course. I can't wait to invest in our players, represent the university with integrity, and help continue moving the Baker golf program forward."
Gonzales and the Baker golf teams will open their 2026 season later this spring, looking to build on a fall campaign that saw the Wildcats place second on the women's side and fifth on the men's at the Heart Conference Preview in October.
