Dines, Lisec Earn Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Honors

NORMAN, Okla. – Gavin Dines and Drew Lisec of the Baker men's golf team were named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 in NAIA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

Dines qualified for the 2025 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships this past spring, becoming Baker's first golfer to claim the individual conference title since 2008 (Michael Kahler) after he won the 2025 Heart Men's Golf Championship on a playoff putt. In his second season at BU, Dines swept the conference's two tournaments with a first-place finish at the Heart Preview in the fall before winning his spring individual title.

Lisec received his second straight Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honor after earning a spot on last year's list. He will enter his fourth season at Baker this upcoming fall and is coming off a 2025 spring that saw him place seventh, individually, at the Heart Championship.

Both golfers will return in the fall and will help lead a Wildcats squad that earned a fourth-place finish in the men's standings at the Heart tournament.
