Dines Earns NAIA All-American Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After competing in his first national tournament, Gavin Dines of the Baker men's golf team was named to the 2024-25 NAIA Men's Golf All-Americans as the national office announced its postseason awards on Thursday.
Dines, a sophomore from Olathe, Kan., earned a spot on the All-American Third Team and joined three other golfers from the Heart of America Conference to land on the postseason list with two from MidAmerica Nazarene and a Mount Mercy golfer.
Dines played in the 2025 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship last week in Silvis, Ill. where he got off to a great start with a top-15 finish after day one of the tournament. He shot one-under par and tied for 15th in his first round in Silvis before bowing out after the cut line following his second round where he shot a 76.
Dines earned his spot in the national tournament after claiming the Heart individual championship on a one-hole playoff back in April. He became the second national qualifier in the past three years for head coach Chris Gilbert and the Wildcats after former BU women's golfer Mia Tovkach made it to the NAIA tournament in 2023.
