Dines Selected to NAIA PING All-Region Team
NORMAN, Okla. – Ahead of his first trip to the national tournament, Baker men's golfer Gavin Dines was named to the 2025 NAIA PING All-Region Team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday.
Dines was one of 15 players selected to the All-Central team, joining six fellow Heart of America Conference golfers with a trio from MidAmerica Nazarene, two from Mount Mercy and one from Park.
The sophomore from Olathe, Kan. is gearing up for the 2025 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship which is set for May 20-23 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. Dines qualified for the tournament as an individual after claiming the Heart individual championship on a one-hole playoff back in April.
In his second season at BU, Dines swept the conference's two tournaments with a first-place finish at Heart Preview in the fall before winning his spring individual title. Overall, he earned Heart Men's Golfer of the Week honors four times this season and added a first-place showing at the Hesston Spring Shootout where he set the program's individual 54-hole record with a score of 209.
Dines opens up the NAIA Tournament on Tuesday, May 20 at 1:50 p.m. before returning to the course on Wednesday with his second-round tee time set for 8:30 a.m. After two full rounds have been completed, the field will be cut, reducing the field to the top 15 teams (plus ties) and six individuals who have not already made the cut with their teams (plus ties).
