Jones Named Freshman of the Year, Joins Tucker in All-Conference Honors

2026 Heart Men's Basketball Postseason Teams and Awards

BALDWIN CITY - Baker men's basketball had a pair of players in Cam Jones and Myles Tucker earn conference postseason honors as the league announced its 2026 Heart Men's Basketball All-Conference teams and postseason award winners on Thursday.

Jones was named the 2026 Heart Freshman of the Year and landed on the All-Heart Third Team, while Tucker was selected to the All-Heart Second Team.

As a freshman from Kansas City, Mo., Jones averaged nearly 15 points per game (14.9) and 6.6 rebounds per game, tallying seven double-doubles in his first season with the Wildcats. His best performance of the year came in an early conference matchup at Park, where he finished with a season-high 25 points and 15 rebounds.

Tucker, a senior from Ottawa, Ill., led the Wildcats in scoring this year, averaging 16.9 points per game while shooting over 40 percent overall (40.9%) and over 30 percent from three-point range (32.8%) for the season. The transfer from Texas A&M International had two games this year where he scored 30 or more points, including a season-high 35 points in a road win at Haskell.

Baker finished off the 2025-26 season with an 11-17 record overall and went 9-11 in conference play, winning four of their first six games in February to go into the season finale with a chance at making the Heart Conference Tournament.
