Men’s Basketball Falls in Regular-Season Finale at Graceland
LAMONI, Iowa - After clinching the conference title on the Yellowjackets' home court last year, Baker men's basketball saw its 2025-26 season come to a close in Lamoni, Iowa, on Saturday as the Wildcats fell to No. 25 Graceland, 92-46.
Graceland outscored BU, 40-13, in the first half and went on to post a 52-point second half to come away with the landslide win.
Baker had half of its field goals come from beyond the three-point arc, finishing with seven 3-pointers that tried masking a 15-for-60 shooting night overall from the Wildcats. Meanwhile, the Yellowjackets totaled a whopping 20 threes with all but seven of their made shots coming from deep.
Senior Myles Tucker scored a team-high 15 points for BU with 12 of them coming in the second half. Jimmy Dorsey knocked down a couple of triples to finish with eight points, while Ethan Viets, another senior, chipped in eight points as well.
Tucker and Dorsey connected on back-to-back threes to start the game and Dorsey splashed in a second one in what looked like it would be another classic battle between the two recent conference rivals.
Layups from KJ Odour and Luke McDonald were BU's final buckets of the opening half as the Yellowjackets closed on a 24-0 run to go into the break leading by 27 points.
In the second half, the Wildcats improved offensively with Cam Jones scoring a couple of early buckets, including a 3-pointer on a pass from Dorsey. Viets converted a three-point play and hit a jumper in a nice stretch for the senior from Coffeyville, Kan.
With BU's upperclassmen playing most of the second half, another senior Braeden Colwell knocked down a couple of free throws, while Tucker and Viets drained a set of threes down the stretch as Graceland closed out its league-best 17th conference win of the season.
Baker finishes off the 2025-26 season with an 11-17 record overall and went 9-11 in conference play after rebuilding most of its roster from last year's Round of 16 squad. The Wildcats won four of their first six games in February to go into Saturday's matchup with a chance at making the Heart Conference Tournament.
