Wildcats Land Six on KCAC All-Conference Teams

BALDWIN CITY - Coming off a runner-up finish at the KCAC Tournament, Baker women's flag football earned six selections to the 2026 KCAC All-Conference Teams.

For the second straight year, Kaley Phillips and Sanija Waller were both selected to the All-KCAC First Team, while Daniela Canals, Mahagonay Simmons and Gabriella Zabaletta all represented BU on the All-KCAC Second Team. Kenya Arias earned honorable mention honors.

Phillips has been a dynamic player for the Wildcats offense, leading the team in receiving with 48 receptions, 628 yards and six touchdowns, while also adding five touchdowns through the air and four on the ground. She rushed for 406 yards and had 62 return yards to give her 1,096 all-purpose yards for the year.

Waller was also a do-it-all weapon for BU, totaling 28 touchdowns with 13 rushing, eight passing and seven receiving. She threw for 603 yards and totaled over 450 yards in both rushing (465) and receiving (473).

Simmons led the Baker receiving corps with 10 touchdowns on the year, hauling in 32 catches for 506 yards.

Meanwhile, Arias, Canals and Zabaletta played huge roles for a Wildcats defense that posted seven shutouts and only allowed more than 12 points in a game once during KCAC play. Canals recorded a team-high 83 tackles and tallied four interceptions, while Zabaletta had 63 tackles with three picks. As a rusher, Arias earned 11 sacks along with 63 tackles and one interception.

Carrying a 14-3 overall record, the Wildcats are coming off their best finish at the conference tournament, reaching the KCAC Championship before falling to Ottawa in a hard-fought title match.

Baker earned one of the eight spots for the inaugural NAIA Women's Flag Football Invitational, which will be held at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. As the No. 5 seed, BU will take on No. 4 Hope International in a first-round matchup on May 7 at 7 a.m. (CT).
