Wildcats Earn Second Straight Runner-Up Finish at Coyote Classic
SALINA, Kan. - After opening up its 2025-26 season with a second-place finish a couple of weeks ago, Baker dance added another runner-up finish to its tally on Friday night, taking second at the Coyote Classic.
The Wildcats earned a score of 90.4 to finish in second place in the nine-team competition, hosted by Kansas Wesleyan. With Oklahoma City (92.9) taking first, the Wildcats built a comfortable three-point gap between them and third-place Concordia (87.7).
BU has now marked a score of 90 or higher in its first two performances of the year after being awarded a 90.6, officially, in Baker's season-opening competition at the Falcon Invite. Senior Linda Shine was named Heart Dancer of the Week that week for helping lead the Wildcats to a runner-up showing in Wichita, Kan.
Up next, Baker will head to Grand View's Viking Classic on February 15 in Des Moines, Iowa, before returning home later in the month to host the Baker Classic on Feb. 21 in the Collins Center.
